Let’s talk detox! We do Spring cleans of our houses, cars, closets, air filters – and neglect to remember that our body is literally the house or vehicle of our soul. Giving our bodies a chance to reset is probably THE most important spring clean of all!

Detox cleanses can be wonderful, game changing experiences, which is why we created our Renew Cleanse Program. We customized this program to fit into the active, working human’s life. There is a 2 and 3 week option. It incorporates our Renew Cleanse Detox Shake with REAL food, which makes it completely doable! We advise you on what anti-inflammatory foods to eat and what foods to avoid to optimize the cleanse. Learn more in the handout.

Patients are constantly saying how much better they feel after the complete this program. Here is another wonderful support resource for your process along with a tasty detox smoothie recipe.

If you’re contemplating a cleanse, consider these common symptoms that might indicate you would benefit from doing one:

  • Constipation
  • Food allergies
  • Weight gain
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Persistent use of NSAID’s or antibiotics
  • Skin issues
  • Fatigue
  • Brain fog

Ways to Support the Natural Detoxification Processes of the Body

Human bodies are amazing and complex, which means we have several systems through which our body is naturally detoxing all the time. Let’s discuss these systems and how to support them:

The Liver

The lovely liver! The liver is able to use enzymes to reduce the level of toxicity. Detox Rebalance is a powerful complex geared towards supporting the liver in its various methods of detoxification.

Detox ReBalance

The Gut

Gut health is essential for absorbing nutrients and removing toxins. It’s important to have a healthy bowel movement every day. NAC is essential for making the master antioxidant glutathione. It also supports the healing of leaky gut. Also, don’t forget about FOOD! It is  important to consume antioxidant rich foods such as berries, beans, apples, and dark leafy greens. Magnesium can also be a gentle bowel movement support if there is constipation.

NAC-Acetyl Cysteine

The Kidneys

The kidneys officially eliminate toxins through urine production. Hydrate and urinate regularly throughout the day. Adding electrolytes or fresh lemon/lime juice can encourage you to drink more water. We’re big fans of Ultima Electrolytes Powder.

The Skin

Our skin eliminates through sweating and our lungs even participate in this process simply by breathing. Take some time to get your movement on and deep breathe every day!

The Lymph System

Lastly, our lymph system removes toxins from our tissues to our blood where it can go through all the systems listed above. Exercise and dry brushing are awesome ways to support the lymph system.

As always, we are here to support you on your health journey and answer any questions you might have about detoxes!
